Entertainment for O’Brien Co. Fair 2020
On June 1st, the O’Brien County Fair Board met to discuss plans for this year’s fair and the COVID-19 pandemic. After much discussion and deliberation, the fair board voted to move forward with a Youth 4-H and FFA fair only.
There will be no entertainment (this includes the Tuesday youth activities), open class exhibitors or commercial exhibitors.
Due to licensing restrictions (no temporary food licenses are being issued by the state at this time), we will be unable to have our customary food court. We are deeply sorry about this but must follow the current guidelines of the state.
A determination regarding the fair races will be made by the Primghar Jaycees. Stay tuned for further details.
We are working closely with the Extension office, O’Brien County Emergency Management and Public Health to make the best possible decisions. These decisions were difficult and not made lightly. Our goal remains to have a fair in some form while maintaining social distancing and following the current state guidelines. As the guidelines change, our plans will continue to evolve.
